The Semester end examination schedule and examination centre
shall be informed through the admit card and also through
website. Student will have to produce the identity card
and admit card to appear in the semester end examination
at the examination centre. The examination pattern will
be available in the program guide provided to the students.
Examinations will be conducted after each Semester four
times a year in February, May, August & November on
Saturdays and Sundays. There will be two examinations of
three hour duration in two sessions in a day. An examination
fee of Rs. 200/- for each paper has to be remitted, by DD
drawn in favour of “National Institute of Management
Education & Research”, payable at Bangalore, when
intimated. Students who fail in a paper(s) must appear for
the failed paper(s), in the subsequent examination by remitting
an amount of Rs. 200/- for each paper along with re-sitting
application, within the due date specified by the Institute.
ASSIGNMENTS
Assignments are an integral component of distance education.
The programme guide supplied to the students
will contain the assignments to be submitted by the students.
Assignments serve the purpose of evaluation of the student's
performance. Marks of each Assignment will be considered
while issuing the Mark List and the Pass Certificate.
CASE STUDY PROJECT
Normally Case Study opportunities are available only for
students of business schools who pursue the Management Degree
on full time basis. Such an opportunity is now being created
by NIMER even for the students of Distance Learning Programs
so that they also have the benefit of Case Study experience
like the students of fulltime programs.
The effectiveness of any educational program lies in its
application to the business and industry. Our Case Study
Project plays the crucial part in providing our students
with an opportunity to perform relevant work in their chosen
industries. An exclusive feature of NIMER is its very close
contacts with leading Indian Corporate houses and Multinationals.
Each student shall be required to prepare on the basis of
investigations carried out by him in a business or industrial
organization, Case study project report on possible solutions
for a typical problem of current interest in the area of
Management. The report should demonstrate the capability
of the student for some creative potential and original
approach to solve the practical problems in to-day's business
or industry. The Case study project report should include
field studies, surveys, interpretation. Planning and design
of improved integrated management systems, presented in
a comprehensive manner with recommendations for solution
based on scientifically worked out data
A Case Study Project will be sent to students at the end
of the Second semester for one year Executive MBA and after
the Second and Fourth semesters for the two year MBA study,
to be solved as directed and returned to the Institute for
valuation two weeks before the examination.
RESULT PUBLICATION
Examination results will be published on the website within
45 days from the last date of examination and Mark card
will be sent to the students directly by Courier.
ERUDITE VALUE
Successful candidates are entitled to use the suffix MBA
after their names.
EVALUATION AND GRADING
Evaluation are conceived, developed and administrated on
a rigorous and fair basis to bring out the best
students and prepare them for challenging careers. A student
performance is based on:

Assignments evaluation, carrying 30%
weightage in the final score.

Semester end examinations, conducted
at the examination Centres, carrying 70% weightage on
the final score.
In each subject, a student should secure at least 35% marks
in Assignments evaluation and 35% marks in the Semester
end examination, and an average of 40% to be declared pass.
Based on the students performance the following grading
system will be adopted:

A = Excellent (+70%)

B = Very Good (+60%)
-
C = Good (+50%)
-
D = Satisfactory (+40%)

E = Failure
